do the cactus produce anything that you use? you smoke the peyote?
No.1686
>>1685Thanks budy
>do the cactus produce anything that you use?The San Pedro and Peruvian Torch have a roughly 8% mescaline alkaloid content. I have done extractions before, the Peyote has about 30-35% mescaline content
>you smoke the Peyote? No I make tea out of it, or dry the buttons and eat them. tbh I don't think smoking it works, I've been wrong before though
>pic 1Cucumber doing great! It's about 5 times the size of the one from last year. Grew it from seed of a cuc from last year too
the more I grow them here the more genetically predisposed the seeds will be to growing in this climate.>pic 2My buddys hybrid pepper grown from seed.
i didnt get a high germination rate on peppers this year, im pretty bummed about it, no habernero sauce this year, fucking gh3y>pic 3Cherry tomatos in the back, brandy wine on the left and right. The one on the left is a first gen, looks like its going to do better over all than the other one.
dat genetic shhhhiiiieeeet again I'll pull the beets and pickle them later this week.

I have two questions.
1. Do any of you have to deal with rabbits
2. Does anyone here grow medicinal herbs for personal use? I want to grow some and tea leaves but I have zero money

I started everything from seed in September, the greens should be at an edible size and they are still basically seedlings. I think because of how hot it was still in Sept
triple digits here then abruptly dropped into the 70s half way through October had something to do with it. :/ will try again next year. Hopefully I can get some seed from some of these, I don't have a lot left of my gens for winter stuff

if they seed, what're the effects?
never thought about it b4 but do they wanna correct the sins of their slacker father, or more lik programming socks and car ears
aka eugenics?
No.2166
>>2165>if they seed, what're the effectsIt's a simplistic form of bio engineering. The as the generations of plants create seed for the next generation, they will become more and more acclimated to the environment they originally grew in. The seeds I have a pretty decent for my region, they wouldn't do as well say, up in Vermont. However, after a couple grow cycles they will become acclimated to what ever new environment they are growing in. The main reason I like growing things outside
other than not having space is because they become more hearty.

heard any predictions about how the season's looking? haven't bothered to get a farmers almanac this year bc they suck now
No.2223
>>2222#guddigitsbudy>heard any predictions about how the season's looking? Not really, I haven't looked at a farmers almanac either. There is speculation, from what I've heard, that it will be unusually warm again because of how mild the winter has been so far. It's rained a lot though, and predictions are for more rain. Some dry spots have water in them,
for the first time in years it seems like the aquifer is recharging. I've noticed if there's a wet winter, it's usually a mild summer here. My rancher budy speculates the same. We will see

Very nice thread.
Your garden grew a lot and changed since last time I've seen your photos.
Herbs like basil is a good way to go, as they don't need lot of space but can entirely cover the seasoning needs. Well at least those that can be grown.

quartz is a thing that supposedly helps plants through "ion exchanges" but idk how true that is

you ever have problems with birds just completely fucking it all up? my dad used to garden and he was rally gud at it but there were a couple years where these shitty little blackbirds with orange/yellow beaks descended in big flocks and tore up everything and shit everywhere and there wasnt much he could do about it they completely ignored any kind of fake owl or scarecrow he put out
No.2315
OK so I transplanted all the seedlings and redid everything. Here is the final set up

maybe it helped out in the years they werent there after their shit seeped into the ground idk he never had a problem growing things there at least
